BUILDING TYPE: Apartments
LOCATION: Austin, Texas
TIMELINE: March 2019 – April 2020
NUMBER OF BUILDINGS: 20
SERVICE TYPE: Exterior - Siding, windows, painting, metal repairs, stone wall replacement, LED lighting upgrade
Retreat at Barton Creek apartments overlook the Barton Creek greenbelt in South Lamar, Austin. The location boasts nearby hiking, biking, and swimming areas, as well as quick access to dining and shopping in one of the most desirable parts of Austin, Texas. The site includes 35 different buildings and four building styles, with nine floor plans available.
During the presentation of the estimate, we were able to illustrate what the Hover technology is capable of, and how it enables us to have such accuracy in our numbers. When it was revealed a competitor had put in a bid for the windows portion, we again used the accuracy of Hover to show the competing bid was inaccurate and overpriced.
The resulting proposal was very detailed and thorough, including 43 pages total, eight scopes for each individual project, Hover photos, spreadsheets with specific material totals, as well as summary information and spec sheets for all materials.

Occurrence that led to our involvement
Contractors Inc was given the opportunity to bid because of the fruitful previous business relationship between Ci Business Developer Josh Nichols and the President of Oden Hughes, a multifamily management company in Texas. The exterior of the building needed new siding, trim, and paint. We walked the scope with the property and regional manager, and captured images of the property using Hover technology. Using the Hover data, we were able to prepare a detailed scope that provided information previous contractors were not able to. Our original numbers were in the client’s hands before other contractors who had been asked to bid over a month prior.During the presentation of the estimate, we were able to illustrate what the Hover technology is capable of, and how it enables us to have such accuracy in our numbers. What we accomplished
The massive scope of this project in service types and buildings touched was a huge achievement. We were able to work in the occupied spaces with minimal interruption to the tenants. Management was very impressed from the complete and thorough estimate to the way daily communications were conducted.
